Regional Communications Officers of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) across the country have congratulated Prof Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang on her nomination as the flagbearer's running mate.
According to the group, the move depicts "the trust and confidence of the rank and file of our great party for the enviable niche you have carved for yourself."
NDC flagbearer, John Mahama picked his former Education Minister as running mate for the 2020 general elections on Monday.
Prof. Opoku-Agyemang’s new role was revealed at a meeting of the NDC’s National Executive Committee (NEC) at the party’s headquarters at Adabraka in Accra.
On the back of this, the 16 regional communicators believe the development is in the right step to propel the party further in its bid to secure victory in the December polls.
"It is our firm conviction that at this crucial moment that our nation has lost trust in the non - performing President Akufo Addo - Dr Mahamudu Bawumia ticket of leadership, you shall bring to bear your enviable sphere of knowledge, motherliness and commitment to the prosperity of all our countrymen and women in supporting His Excellency John Dramani Mahama to emancipate our country from the profound leadership paralysis that we are enduring under President Akufo-Addo," they said in a jointly-signed statement released July 6, 2020.
