The Minister for Roads and Highways, Governs Kwame Agbodza, has thrown his weight behind the highly anticipated Joy FM 'Big Workout', scheduled for Saturday, January 31, 2026, at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium.

Speaking on Joy FM’s Super Morning Show (SMS) on Wednesday, the Minister praised the initiative, describing it as a timely intervention in the fight against lifestyle-related diseases.

“I want to congratulate Joy FM for this workout thing. All of us should be finding time and space to engage in physical exercise to avoid some of the lifestyle diseases,” Mr Agbodza said.

He encouraged Ghanaians to take inspiration from the event, stressing that regular physical activity plays a critical role in improving overall health and wellbeing.

“I think it’s a very good thing, and I wish all of us would take a cue from it and make time for exercise. It will help a lot,” he added.

As anticipation builds, corporate executives, fitness enthusiasts and wellness advocates across the capital are preparing to trade their business suits for sneakers as the nation’s biggest fitness festival returns.

The 2026 edition of the Joy FM Big Workout is designed to shake off the lethargy of the festive season and replace it with an energising morning of wellness, networking and collective movement.

Organised by The Multimedia Group, the event has grown into a flagship wellness activation, drawing thousands of participants each year.

Activities will commence at 5:00 a.m. at the University of Ghana Stadium car park, beginning with a guided health walk to adequately warm up participants.

The route has been carefully mapped to provide a balanced physical challenge, starting from the University of Ghana Stadium, moving towards the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), passing through the Trinity Church area, stretching to the Bawaleshie traffic light, before turning at Okponglo and returning to the stadium.

Upon arrival, the event will transition into a high-energy aerobics session, powered by leading fitness instructors and driven by pulsating DJ sets aimed at keeping participants fully engaged.

A standout feature of this year’s edition is the Corporate Wellness Challenge, which encourages organisations to participate in full corporate colours, transforming the stadium into a vibrant display of brand identity, teamwork and healthy competition.

With music, movement and motivation at its core, the Joy FM Big Workout 2026 promises an unforgettable celebration of health and wellness in Accra.
