Rolling Stone guitarist Ronnie Wood is "seeking help" with his battle with alcohol in a rehabilitation centre, a spokeswoman for the star has confirmed.
The move follows tabloid speculation over the state of his 23-year marriage to former model Jo Wood.
"Following Ronnie's continued battle with alcohol he has entered a period of rehab," his spokeswoman said.
"His close family and friends say he is seeking help and look forward to his recovery."
Addiction
This is not the first time the 61-year-old has sought help for addiction to alcohol.
In 2002 he checked into a clinic to undergo treatment.
A long-term addiction to the drug cocaine led to the star having a plastic septum inserted in his nose in 1975.
Last year, the star and his fellow Stones bandmates completed their Bigger Bang tour, which began in 2005.
He joined the Stones after beginning his career with Rod Stewart's band The Faces.
Last week, Faces keyboard player Ian McLagan confirmed the surviving members of the band were considering a reunion.
As well as being in one of the most famous bands in the world, Wood is known for his painting.
Jo Wood is his second wife. Their relationship has been branded one of the most enduring in rock history.
