In a heartwarming display of compassion and community support, the Rotary Club of Tarkwa extended a helping hand to the Tarkwa Prisons, donating essential items to enhance the well-being of inmates.
The donation which has become an annual ritual, comprised of necessities such as two blood pressure monitors, three infrared thermometers, medications, bags of water, toilet rolls, toothpaste and brushes, and other toiletries worth GH¢10,000.
Expressing sincere appreciation to all club members and donors, the Club President, Abdel-Razak Yakubu emphasised the significance of collective efforts in enhancing the lives of those in need and fostering positive change within the community.

He urged the prison officials to ensure that the donated items are put to good use to maximise the impact and uphold their duty to provide adequate care for inmates.
In response, prison officials expressed their gratitude on behalf of the inmates, recounting other donations and medical screening programs conducted by the Rotary Club of Tarkwa for inmates in the past.
Acknowledging the impact of the donation on the daily lives of those under their care, the prison officials emphasized the importance of such contributions in promoting a conducive environment for rehabilitation and reintegration.

The officials appealed for continued support from the club and the community, recognising the ongoing challenges faced by correctional facilities in meeting the diverse needs of their inmates.
