The National Youth Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Salam Mustapha, has condemned the actions of Democracy Hub protesters, accusing them of destroying NPP paraphernalia at the 37 Roundabout in Accra.
According to reports, the protesters allegedly removed and set fire to items associated with the NPP as part of their demonstration against the current government.
Salam Mustapha took to social media to express his dissatisfaction with the incident, labelling it as an unnecessary provocation.
He strongly criticised the protesters for destroying party property and questioned why the police did not intervene during the vandalism.
Mr Mustapha also voiced his disappointment with what he perceived as biased media coverage, stating that the destruction of NPP property had not been adequately addressed.
Although Mr Mustapha affirmed the NPP's support for the right to peaceful protest, he emphasised that the destruction of party assets was unacceptable and warned that such actions would not be tolerated.
He argued that political demonstrations should not involve property damage or provoke violence.
In a call to action, Mr Mustapha urged NPP supporters to assemble at the 37 Roundabout the following day to protect the party’s property and prevent further acts of vandalism.
