Ghanaian musician Samant D’legend has gotten off to a great start to 2025 with a new music project he titles Last Straw.
The 6-track EP is Samant’s third in his professional music career and was released on 28th March, 2025. It succeeds ‘WOW’, a Reggaeton/funk song which did great in the Americas.
The Afrobeats artiste tells Joy Entertainment that ‘Last Straw’ was borne out of “the quiet battles, bottled-up frustrations, and the countless times [he] smiled through the pain”. The inspiration is evident and cleverly plays out in the lead single of the EP – Je – which tackles survival, gratitude, and the quiet joy of saying “I made it.”

“It's a personal prayer turned into melody, a celebration of strength, faith, and the God who never lets go”, Samant D’legend further explained.
Beyond ‘Je’ which features Danqua and Goldganq, fans have an option of exploring other carefully produced and curated songs off the ‘Last Straw’ EP including ‘Only You’, ‘Something’, ‘Vem’ and a few others.

Born Samuel Antwi, Samant D’legend is an international Afrobeats/Afro-fusion artiste who hails from Ghana, and has carefully honed his skills over the years in the Americas. He is a three-time recipient of the Best Latin Song award at The Akademia Music Awards in Los Angeles, USA. He also has collaborated with renowned artistes of varied backgrounds including Fanieh (Brazil), Ghana’s Keche, Eno Barony and D-Cryme, as well as Crucial Bankie (Jamaica), to mention a few.
