Black Stars defender Hans Adu Sarpei is racing with injury ahead of the game against Uruguay on Friday.
The defender, who has since the start of the competition maintained a regular position on the left back of the team, got substituted in the game against United States of America (USA).
He told the press that he gave up on the game because he was having difficulties with his leg, but said he would be ready for the next game against Uruguay.
Adu Sarpei said with a few days ahead of the match, he would be counting on the medical team to put him in a better condition before Friday.
The defender said the team was in the competition with a mission to qualify for the semi-finals after which they would make an attempt at winning the cup, so they had to go all out in the game against Uruguay.
"Uruguay will be tough opponents, but we have a duty to ourselves, the people of Ghana and Africa. That is to win on Friday", he stated.
He said the team wanted to make the people of Ghana and Africa happy by beating Uruguay, "because they have motivated us to reach this far and we cannot let them down."
According to Sarpei, the team was motivated by the high hopes of the people of Ghana and Africa and that they were willing to go the extra mile to win for their supporters.
"I can imagine how Ghana was when we won last time against USA. I hope the next victory against Uruguay will turn the country upside down, because the people will go wild with jubilation.
