Mr Adjei Manso, an executive member of the Sefwi-Wiawso branch of the Ghana Private Road Transport Union (GPRTU), has appealed to the national union leadership to settle a case in which 11 of the branch’s members are standing trial.
Mr Adjei Manso said the national officers should step in to amicably settle the case, which is before the Bibiani Circuit Court.
The 11 members are accused of threatening the branch Chairman, Mr Kwasi Adu.
Making the appeal through the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Bibiani at the weekend, Mr Manso said everything should be done to “heal” the current impasse.
He also spoke of the need for the main actors to soften their hard-line positions in order to find a common ground.
For some time now, the branch union has become inactive because of the legal battle.
