Artiste manager Bulldog has said he disagrees with his colleague George Britton’s assertion that the music industry will collapse without three of its biggest stars Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy and Sarkodie.
Speaking to Andy Dosty on Daybreak Hitz on Hitz FM, he explained that just as the three artistes have picked up the mantle from legends to help grow the industry, other young stars will do same in their absence.
Bulldog, born Lawrence Nana Asiamah Hanson, stated that if Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy and Sarkodie believe the industry will suffer without them then they are working in vain.
“Because if Sarkodie is nowhere today and nobody can rap, then, what did he rap for? If Shatta is out today and nobody can do what he does in terms of Reggae and Dancehall, then, what did he do all this for.”
“I am sure all of them are doing this for posterity, so, that they can look back and say we inspired these people,” he added.
The artiste manager said that like the world, no one can stop music from spinning.
He mentioned Daddy Lumba, Kojo Antwi and other veteran artistes whose works are still in the system and are being respected for their hardwork although they have not been doing much like they used to in terms of music.
The music industry continued even with their absence but artistes are picking inspirations from them for their work.
This, is securing the continuity of music in the country, Bulldog added.
