The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has taken a bold step forward in emergency response capabilities by adopting a cutting-edge technological solution developed by SnooCODE, to enhance fire-fighting efficiency. This collaboration marks a historic first for Ghana, equipping over 300 firefighters in Accra with advanced tools to save lives and property.
At the heart of this initiative is SnooCODE RED, a digital health logistics platform integrated with Project Heal’s groundbreaking algorithms. The Project Heal introduces sophisticated mathematical models for pre-hospital triage, which have now been adapted for emergency firefighting.
The platform optimizes resource allocation, enhances emergency response routing, and ensures precision in locating fire outbreaks. Using real-time data analytics, the system reduces response times and improves accuracy in identifying fire locations. During the pilot trials, SnooCODE RED demonstrated a 40% reduction in emergency response times and a 56% improvement in overall efficiency—benefits now extended to firefighting operations.
Speaking at the launch ceremony, Chief Fire Officer Julius Kunu praised the partnership as a groundbreaking achievement for Ghana's emergency services. “This collaboration with SnooCODE is a game-changer. For the first time in Ghana, our firefighters have access to state-of-the-art technology that ensures swift and precise responses. This is a critical step in empowering our team to save lives and protect property more effectively than ever before,” he said.
The Chief Fire Officer commended Edem Fiatsonu and the SnooCODE team for their commitment to innovation and their role in addressing critical challenges in emergency management. “This initiative sets a new benchmark for emergency services not only in Ghana but across Africa,” he added.
Equipping Firefighters for Success
As part of the rollout, Edem Fiatsonu is leading comprehensive training sessions for over 300 firefighters in Accra. These sessions focused on equipping GNFS personnel with the skills needed to fully utilize the SnooCODE RED platform, including features like optimized routing, dynamic resource allocation, and offline functionality for remote operations.
Edem Fiatsonu emphasized the importance of empowering emergency responders during the training. “Technology is only as effective as the people who use it. This training ensures that our firefighters are fully prepared to harness the potential of SnooCODE RED, enhancing their ability to act swiftly and decisively in emergencies,” he said.

The collaboration between SnooCODE and the GNFS signals a new era in emergency services, where technology and innovation meet to solve real-world challenges.
