Listed bank, Societe Generale Ghana has pledged its commitment of creating an institution that is agile and responsive to the needs of customers, particularly within the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise category, which, it describes as the bedrock of the economy.
To this end, it has launched the Market Cash Collection Hub at Derby Avenue in Makola-Accra, a solution that will address the needs and provide convenience and security for customer deposits in the market space. According to the financial intermediary, its vision is to create an institution that is agile and responsive to the needs of customers.
Managing Director, Hakim Ouzzani, said Societe Generale Ghana has positioned itself to become the bank of choice for all customers including MSMEs.
“We understand that sometimes the entrepreneurial women and men of the market do not have time to wait in a branch or may feel unsafe carrying large amounts of cash to make deposits. Through this hub, SG Ghana offers a face-to-face collection service that solves such challenges.”
“The service is a safe and convenient way for customers to deposit cash to their bank accounts without taking time out of their very important business day. In fact, this service facilitates an increase operational productivity for business owners and allows them to control the frequency with which depsoits are made as our teams are ready to come and collect cash Monday to Friday, 8am to 3pm”, the MD added.
He assured customers the cash will go straightaway to the bank and their balances communicated to them in real time on their mobile phones, adding, “we are indeed very proud to start here in historic Makola”.
The bank’s aim is to follow this opening with additional locations in Kumasi, Takoradi and beyond.
In addition to the cash collection service, Mr. Ouzzani said the hub also offers a specialised service for Chinese clients, “we offer cash collection, advisory, as well as the usual banking services with a specially selected Chinese speak team, whose expertise have been honed through many years of working with Chinese MSMEs as well as large corporates from China.”

He concluded, noting, “our aim is to further demonstrate that SG Ghana is a bank that truly understands the needs of all segments of customers and continues to create products and services that specifically address those needs.”
Head of Retail Business at Societe Generale Generale, Obed Hoyah, for his part said the Market Cash Collection Hub is a premier outlet uniquely designed to cater for MSMEs, and is the first to be strategically located in the middle of the hustle and bustle of an area where numerous MSMEs operate.
“Not only does it bring the number of Societe Generale Ghana networked outlets up to 40, it is the first of its kind in the network”, he added.
In addition helping address concerns with regards to deposit security within the market, Societe Generale Ghana is also making available credit facilities, bancassurance products and many more.
