South Africa’s constitutional court is on Tuesday expected to issue a verdict on whether or not former President Jacob Zuma is guilty of contempt of court.
The court is to decide whether Mr Zuma should be punished for defying a summons and court order to appear and give evidence at an inquiry into corruption during his time in power.
The chair of the special Raymond Zondo judicial inquiry committee that has been investigating the allegations has asked the court to declare the former president in contempt of court and sentence him to two years.
Since he resigned in 2018, Mr Zuma has been in and out of court over corruption allegations - which he denies.
