Speaker of Parliament Alban Bagbin has directed the special committee investigating the ministerial vetting chaos to suspend its sitting.
The communication which takes immediate effect will hold until further notice.
This was disclosed by the chairman of the committee, Emmanuel Bedzrah midway through the testimony of clerk who was at the receiving end of Alexander Afenyo-Markin's verbal outburst, Gifty Jiagge-Gobah.
"The clerk of parliament has instructed that we should suspend the sitting until further notice, and therefore, I want everybody to be aware that it is not the committee that has decided to stop but the Clerk to Parliament of Ghana has requested that until he gets further instruction from the speaker, the Committee should suspend the sitting. On that note, we want to discharge you," he said.
Other individuals who have appeared before the special committee today include the Chairman of the Appointments Committee, Bernard Ahiafor, Majority Leader Mahama Ayariga, Minister for Roads and Highways, Kwame Governs Agbodza, Tourism Minister Dzifa Gomashie, Pru West MP Emmanuel Kofi Ntekuni, and Keta MP Kwame Dzudzorli Gakpey.
