Former Vice President. Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia was accorded an enthusiastic welcome and firm assurances of support on Sunday as he continued his campaign in the Bono Region.
Dr Bawumia completed an engaging four-day tour of the Bono East Region on Saturday and headed next to the Bono Region, with visits to Banda, Tain and Wenchi Constituencies respectively.
In all constituencies, members of the party displayed remarkable love for the former Vice President, as they cheered him with three raised fingers, signifying his number 3 position on the ballot paper for the January 31 Congress.
Various speakers from all levels of the party, including constituency executives, MPs, parliamentary candidates, electoral area coordinators and polling station executives, spoke in turns to commend Dr Bawumia's hard work and commitment to the success of the NPP, and also assure him of their unflinching support.
In Banda, where the Bono Regional tour commenced, the constituency chairman, on behalf of his people, assured Bawumia of their support once again, having voted massively for him during the last primaries.
"We already know who you are so we are eager to vote massively for you, better than what we did in 2023," the Chairman assured.
"Our elders say the person you already know; you don't need light in the night to look at their face. All we wanted was for you to come and contest again and by the grace of God, you have come so my people have asked me to inform you that they will repeat in 2026 what they did for you in 2023 during the last primaries.
"In the 2023 primaries, you came here in Banda Constituency and we promised to vote for you and we did just that by placing 3rd in the whole of the Bono Region. And my people say I should assure you again that God willing, on January 31st; they will do even better for you."
Similar assuring comments were made by party members in Tain and Wenchi constituencies, with Dr. Bawumia expressing gratitude to them and assuring them that he will continue to work with them for victory to be achieved together.
