A tragic road accident on Monday morning at about 7:30 a.m. at Assin Dansame in the Central region claiming the life of a 34-year-old teacher identified as Michael Brobbey.
Mr Brobbey, who taught at Assin Breman near Assin Kushia in the Assin North District, was on his way to school when the incident occurred.
Eyewitnesses say he was riding his motorbike from Assin Breku when an oncoming vehicle attempted to overtake another.
In a bid to avoid a collision, he swerved onto the pedestrian lane but was struck from behind by a KIA vehicle with registration number GF-4723-22, killing him instantly.
The Assin North police were promptly notified and arrived at the scene to convey Brobbey’s body to the mortuary.
The driver of the KIA vehicle, whose identity is yet to be disclosed, has been taken into custody to assist with investigations.
The accident site has since been cleared to restore the free flow of traffic.
The Assin Breku community is mourning the sudden death of Brobbey, affectionately known as “Kobii.”
His passing has sent shock waves through the town, and he will be deeply missed by his students, colleagues, and loved ones.
