The 2009 edition of the annual Joy FM Old Skuuls Reunion came off successfully all day Saturday at the Ghana International Trade Fair Centre at La, Accra.
Organizers of what is termed Ghana’s biggest social event say over 50,000 people from some 60 second cycle and tertiary educational institutions participated.
It serves as a networking and socialization platform bringing together alumni of various schools to relive memories of school days.
It was sponsored by mobile telecoms operator, Zain, as title sponsor supported by Guinness, Coca Cola and Smirnoff Ice, Benchmark Professional Institute and Pleasure Condoms.
Old students participated in various competitions, including five-aside football, basketball, 50-metre sprint, table tennis, pool, chess, tug-of-peace, music and dance and eating competition.
Team Joy retained the five-aside gala championship after beating the Spartans of the University of Education, Winneba by a lone goal.
