Actresses Rita Dominic and Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde have been named to headline this year’s AMAA Nominations Night scheduled to take place at Laico Regency Hotel in Nairobi, Kenya on February 25.
According to Nigeriamovies.net, movie stars such as Joke Silva, Kate Henshaw-Nuttal, Ramsey Nouah, Mike Ezuruonye, Chinedu Ihedieze, Ini Edo, Jackie Appiah are all expected to grace the event.
Jim Iyke is also expected to make his first ever appearance.
Organizers of the awards say the primary aim of AMAA is to facilitate development and showcase the social relevance of African films and cinemas.
The AMAAs, which is becoming the most prestigious and glamorous African movie awards, considers movies in 24 categories, which includes:
The Best Actor, Best Actress, Most Promising Actress, Most Promising Actor, Best Actress in Supporting Role, Best Actor in Supporting Role, Best Child Actor, Most Outstanding Costumes, Most Outstanding Cinematography, Most Outstanding Make-up, Most Outstanding Film Editor and the Heart of Africa Awards.
This year’s awards event will be held in April 2011 and would be televised globally.
