“My deepest condolences to Cynthia, their kids, his extended family, Kwesi Twum and the entire Multimedia Group. Rest in perfect peace bro,” he said.
On his part, the former President, John Mahama expressed sadness over the news.
In a Facebook post on Thursday, Mr Mahama wrote, “I knew Elvis from my days as a young deputy minister for communications especially when as a young journalist he was assigned to cover parliament.”
Describing the media professional as “a good person,” he added that “his days with the Multimedia Group showcased his professional journalistic trait and a classic example of how to play the gatekeeping role as a media person.”
“I was by his bedside briefly during his period of hospitalisation and feel indeed sad that he was unable to pull through. We can only thank God for his life, and my heart goes out at this time to his wife, Cynthia, the children, family and to the Multimedia Group,” he added.
A Corporate Communications Consultant, Sena Atoklo said "The media landscape has lost a great guy. The impact of Joy Brands is a testament to your leadership. You left footprints in the sands of time."
The Chief Executive of the CEOs Summit, Ernest De-Graft Egyir recounted the support Mr Kwashie gave him when he started his business.
“I’m heartbroken at the loss of a doyen of standard for fair, probing and thoughtful journalism. Elvis was the best media management professional I saw in the last decade.
“The name Elvis Kwashie kept betting my concern especially with the kind and the quality journalistic results and impact from Joy FM. So indomitable a media brand and journalists you help built and churned at Joy FM,” he wrote on Facebook.
