At least twelve people have sustained critical injuries following a road traffic accident involving three vehicles at Gomoa Amenfi on the Winneba–Mankessim stretch of the N1 Highway.
Reports indicate that a Toyota Voxy, with registration number GN 9883-25, collided head-on with a Nissan Altima, registered GW 1895-09, after the Voxy driver allegedly attempted a wrongful overtaking manoeuvre.
Moments after the initial impact, a Hyundai Elantra with registration GR 1972-15 rear-ended the Toyota Voxy.

All seven passengers travelling in the Toyota Voxy, together with the driver, suffered life-threatening injuries. Four occupants of the Nissan Altima also sustained varying degrees of injuries as a result of the collision.

Personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service at Apam responded promptly to the incident and transported all twelve injured persons to the Winneba Trauma and Specialist Hospital, where they are currently receiving treatment.
