UBA Ghana through the UBA Foundation once again demonstrated its commitment to humanity through the Food Bank Initiative, distributing Christmas goodie bags to the residents of Madina.
The Bank shared hundreds of the goodie bags as well as drinks, biscuits and other food items to street children, hawkers, drivers and conductors, homeless etc within the Madina environs.
The event, which took place on Friday, December 29, 2023, is part of the UBA Foundation's ongoing efforts to make lasting improvements in the lives of the less fortunate in the communities where the bank operates.
The Foundation focuses on various areas such as education, economic empowerment, and special projects.
Henry Nii Dottey, Head of Marketing and Corporate Communications at UBA Ghana, shared his thoughts on the initiative, emphasising “the impact of acts of kindness, especially during festive times."
He expressed anticipation for the day, which allows the bank to extend love and support to those in need.
Mr Dottey highlighted "the significance of Christmas as a season of giving and spreading love.”
Furthermore, Mr. Dottey underscored that the Food Bank Initiative aligns with crucial global goals, including the eradication of poverty and hunger, as outlined in the Sustainable Development Goals.
He assured that UBA Ghana remains committed to this initiative in the coming years, collaborating with partners to touch even more lives during the Christmas season.
The beneficiaries of the goodie bags expressed gratitude to UBA Ghana for its thoughtful gesture.
They conveyed appreciation for the bank's consideration and for celebrating the day with them by sharing an abundance of goodies.
