The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Education Winneba (UEW), Professor Akwasi Asabere-Ameyaw, has inaugurated a six-member Audit Report Implementation Committee (ARIC) of the University.
The committee, headed the Vice-Chancellor, would assist the University Council in fulfilling its oversight responsibilities for the financial reporting process, ensure internal control and the audit process of the university.
The Committee would also help to promote effective functioning of Internal Audit Unit and follow up on the implementation of audit recommendations to ensure efficient and effective utilization of public resources in line with the objectives of the Public Financial Management Reform Programmes (PUFMRP)
Inaugurating the committee, Professor Asabere-Ameyaw urged members to work hard to enable the committee to achieve its aims and objectives.
Ms. Sena Dake, Acting Head of Audit Unit of the university, said the committee would see to the implementation of the recommendations of audit reports of the University.
Mr. Eric Norgbey, Deputy Director, Internal Audit Agency, said the committee had authority to conduct or authorize investigations into any matters within its scope or responsibility.
Other members of the committee are Professor Steven Sobotie, Prof. R. T. Awuah, Dr. Nana K. Owusu-Kwarteng, Mr. Eric Norgbey and Mr. L. C. T Zaukuu
