The University of Ghana Council has approved new Senior Level Administrative appointments.
The approval was made at its meeting on Thursday, June 30 and would take effect from Monday, August 1, 2011.
A statement issued by Mr J.M. Budu, Registrar of the University said Professor Kweku Osam, Dean of the Faculty of Arts has been appointed Pro Vice-Chancellor (Academic and Student Affairs) and Professor John Gyapong, Vice Dean, School of Public Health as Pro Vice-Chancellor (Research, Innovation and Development) .
It said Professor Osam, succeeded Professor Kwesi Yankah, while Professor Gyapong succeeded Professor Yaa Ntiamoa-Baidu who had both retired from the niversity.
The statement said other appointments were Professor Kwame Offei, Dean, School of Agriculture, now Provost of College of Agriculture and Consumer Sciences, Professor Kwadwo Ofori, Acting Dean, School of Graduate Studies, as the Dean.
It said Professor Kwame Domfeh, Dean, University of Ghana Business School (UGBS ), Professor Richard Bani Vice Dean, Faculty of Engineering Sciences (FES) as Dean, Professor Clement Ahiadeke Acting Director of the Institute of Statistical Social and Economic Research( ISSER) as Director and Mrs Stella Amoa, Acting Director, Public Affairs Directorate as Director.
The statement said Mr Richard Boapea, Deputy Director, Finance has been appointed Director of the Finance Directorate, Mr Peter Yarquah, Acting College Registrar, College of Agriculture and Consumer Sciences(CACS) as Registrar and Mrs Norah Sowa, Acting Finance Officer of CACS as Finance Officer.
