University of Ghana students fear a proposed decongestion policy will negatively affect them if poorly managed. They are therefore calling on university authorities to defer the implementation and rather negotiate with the student leadership to fix realistic residential fees. William Tackie Aboi, President of Commonwealth Hall has told Joy News the university has yet to publish residential facilities user fees because of the new policy. Sources at the university however have told Joy News the plan seeks to reduce the pressure on facilities on campus. It is not known officially what the new policy contains but students there suspect a migration from the current five-in-a-room policy to three-in-a-room. Source: Joy News/Ghana
