The Supreme Court of Ghana is set to deliver its verdict on the vacant seats case tomorrow, following the conclusion of arguments presented by the plaintiff and the Attorney-General, who also serves as the Minister for Justice.
Chief Justice Gertrude Torkornoo announced the date after hearing both sides, indicating that the court is prepared to provide clarity on the matter.
In a notable development, the lawyers representing the Speaker of Parliament failed to submit their statement of case and were absent from the court proceedings.

This absence has raised concerns, as the Speaker's representation was expected to play a key role in addressing the legal interpretations surrounding the parliamentary seats in question.
The Attorney-General expressed strong disapproval of the Speaker's legal team’s actions, particularly criticising Thaddeus Sory, the Speaker's lawyer, for his absence.
The Attorney-General argued that Mr Sory’s failure to appear in court or submit the required documents demonstrated a lack of respect for the judicial process.
In response, the Attorney-General urged the court to take a serious stance on this conduct, suggesting that it undermines the court’s authority and the due process in such a significant case.
The court’s ruling tomorrow is anticipated with keen interest, as it could have a significant impact on parliamentary representation and the interpretation of constitutional obligations for public officials.
