Actor Van Vicker was allegedly arrested in Lagos last weekend for the possession of arms, according to nigeriafilms.com.
Van Vicker was billed to attend the just concluded Africa Movie Academy Awards in Lagos on Sunday but missed the event.
He was reported to have been arrested by some men of the State Security Services (SSS) at the airport in Nigeria when some guns were found in his luggage.
He then told the SSS that the guns were props guns brought in for a movie but the security personnel took him to their offices in Ikoyi, Lagos for further investigation, where he spent the night.
The online news portal said its sources said Van later tried contacting his families and a colleague, Uche Jombo, who was already at AMAA but to no avail. The report said Van’s message sent through a BlackBerry Messager (BBM) to Uche Jombo, did not reach her due to low battery and that Uche only got the message the next day.
Uche has reportedly helped with the release of the light skinned actor.
