Host of Beginning with Jesus on Hitz FM says anyone who has decided to use his gift in church must do it without expecting to be paid.
According to him, in the house of the Lord, we are entreated to use our God given talents to the glory of the Lord.
“You have chosen to come to church here every Sunday though you are in Kasoa. You find yourself as a member of the church, you find something doing; why should you be paid for that? You are worshipping God.”
Speaking in an interview with Andy Dosty on Daybreak Hitz, a pastor of the Church of Pentecost made an exception for a scenario whereby the person depends on the talent for their daily bread.
“I agree that if this is what someone depends on and because of that he is denied of some revenue he could have made elsewhere, then that person should be properly acknowledged”
This comes on the heels of comments made by renowned Ghanaian gospel musician, Diana Hamilton, who spoke on the issue of whether church instrumentalists are supposed to be paid for their work.
On Happy FM’s Showbiz Xtra, she simply said “The worker is worth their wage”, thus, supporting the notion that they should be paid.
