Charges may be filed this week in the case of a former Fisher Communications employee who police claim rigged a KVI Seattle promotion so her friends would win $1,000 prizes and she could pocket a portion of their winnings.
SeattlePI.com reports that in early 2007 KVI aired a Secret Listener Salute in which names were announced and listeners were told they had 30 minutes from the time of the announcement to call and win $1,000. The job of the woman – then KVI’s promotions coordinator – was to select the winning name and take it to the broadcast booth to be announced. Seattle law enforcement authorities say the woman was picking winners she knew, then taking a share of their winnings.
