Former Presiden John Mahama on Saturday opened a three-day retreat for Communications Officers and members of the Communications Team of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Ho.
The party’s 2020 Presidential Candidate commended the Communications Team for promoting and explaining the NDC’s ‘People’s Manifesto’ to Ghanaians.
According to Mr Mahama, the policies outlined in the manifesto became the most talked-about by Ghanaians because it reflected the people's aspirations.
He also applauded the team for its reliance on facts and data, therefore, encouraged the party’s Communicators not to worry about the numerous resort to personal attacks and intimidation by the party’s main opponents, the NPP.
Criticizing the recent spate of murders in the country, the former President expressed his condolences to the families of Ibrahim Mohammed [also known as Kaaka] and the two others who were killed in Ejura amid a protest.
He said the rising tension and general state of insecurity engulfing the country are reflective of the leader himself, asserting that the situation is “unfortunate.”
Mr Mahama also said, Ghanaians must be rescued from the challenges they are facing under the current administration of governance.
He, therefore, urged his party’s members and other sympathisers to work hard to return the NDC to power come 2024.
The 3-day Retreat was put together by the National Communications Bureau of the NDC.
