The Zabzugu MP, Alhassan Umar, has expressed deep sympathy for traders affected by the recent fire outbreak that destroyed the Zabzugu market in the Northern Region.
The blaze, which occurred in the early hours of Monday, February 23, consumed large quantities of yams and other goods, leaving many traders in distress and struggling to recover from the loss of their livelihoods.
In a statement, the MP assured the victims of his full support and confirmed that he was coordinating with relevant authorities to ensure prompt relief and intervention.
He also called on government agencies, including the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) and the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development, as well as NGOs and charitable organisations, to provide urgent assistance to the affected traders.
Highlighting the need for a united response, Alhassan Umar urged all stakeholders and community members to work together to rebuild the market and restore economic activity for those affected by the fire.
