The CEO of a Western Region-based NGO, Focus One Group, has called on the general public to support the upkeep of inmates since ¢1.80gh feeding fee for each inmate is inadequate.
Kwame Adu-Mante said cash and or items donations throughout the year will help improve the health and well-being of the inmates.
He made the passionate appeal during a donation exercises to some 720 male and female inmates at the Sekondi Prisons.
Focus One Group CEO also advised the general public not to always perceive inmates in a bad light. He said some inmates are in prison largely as victims of circumstances.

"It is a correctional facility, not a condemn facility so it’s always a step in the right direction to come around and show them love,” he said.
As part of the 10-year philanthropy to the prisons, Mr Adu-Mante donated medical items, groceries and other assorted items worth ¢40,000 to the 720 inmates.
The NGO also donated hospital equipment and medications for their infirmary.

Mr Adu-Mante said, “the gesture was a simple manifestation of God's commandment for us to love your neighbours as yourselves.
“Doing that I believe is showing the greatest love you can to your neighbour or friend because the Bible says we should love our neighbours as ourselves."
DSP Nesta Adjetey Cyrian, Western Regional Public Relation Officer of Ghana Prisons Services thanked the Focus One Group for the donation.
He called on the general public to emulate the continuous commitment of Kwame Adu-Mante towards the facility in the last 10 years.
