Eighteen returned and potential migrants have completed a 5-day business coaching training session organised by by the German Sparkassenstiftung Ghana.

The training was organised under the theme: "Economic Inclusion of returnees and potential migrants in Ghana and the Gambia" from November 28th to December 2nd 2022 for African returning and potential migrants business entrepreneurs in Ghana.

The two business coaching sessions were held concurrently at the Queen of Peace Co-operative Unions Association (QoPCCU), Madina in the Greater Accra Region and the Credit Union Training Centre (CUTraC) at Kasoa in the Central Region of the Republic of Ghana.

The project was funded by the German Agency for International Cooperation and implemented by the German Sparkassenstiftung Western Africa.

It aims at supporting returned and potential migrants to build themselves a livelihood from their own businesses.

The session included modules like business operations, products and services, marketing plans, and financial plans among others.

On the last day of training, the Manager of the Queen of Peace Co-operative Credit Unions, Frank Aboagye gave a historic presentation on the Co-operative Credit Unions' (CCU) mission and the financial service and products the CCU renders to the public.

He said one of Queen of Peace Co-operative Unions' financial products is the Migrants Business Loan Fund (MLBF-DSIK) hence, the partnership with German Sparkassenstiftung in supporting returning and potential migrants.

Giving the closing remarks after the presentation of the Certificate of Participation to Trainees, Abena Amponsaa Asante Asare and Augustine Poku-Badu who were the trainers and business coaches urged the Trainees to apply the knowledge they have gained during the 5-day coaching in their existing businesses.

On behalf of the trainees, Justice Baako Ntarmah of the Migrant Labour General Workers' Union International (MLGWUI) thanked German Sparkassenstiftung Ghana and its partners for continuous business training and support for returned migrants, migrant workers and potential migrant business entrepreneurs in Ghana and Africa.

He urged all African returning migrants from the diaspora with no business skills or who are unemployed to avail themselves to German Sparkassenstiftung, GIZ, Ghanaian-German Center for Jobs, Migration and Reintegration as well as MLGWUI for advice on Business Coaching Training.
