As the borders remain closed, many residents, especially the poor and destitute who gets their daily bread by hawking and doing petty trading along the Ghana-Togo borders have been left stranded and unable to feed their families

In view of this, two philanthropists have jointly reached out to some vulnerable residents in Ketu South and North districts who are affected by the closure of the border.

Chief Executive Officer of  Compas Group of companies, Parlors Quashie has donated food items and GH¢100 cash to each household affected by the continuous closure of the border.

The move,  according to Mr Quashie is to help less privileged residents in communities affected by the border closure survive in these trying times.

Mr. Quashie, also a leading member of the NPP in Ketu South believes efforts by  government to contain the Covid-19 will yield positive results.

On her part, Mrs. Araba Parker explained the gesture followed the closure of the border which has widely affected traders in the two districts whose livelihood depend mainly on trading.

"They depend solely on daily hustles along the border for survival and so, it's important we all come to support them.  This is a collective responsibility for us all.

 We are also taking the opportunity to remind them of the protocols and to remind them to adhere to them  for their own safety, "Mrs Parker noted.

She appealed to other benevolent groups and individuals to follow suit to reach out to the needy in the area.
