Heart of Lions remained at the top of the Ghana Premier League following a 3-1 victory over Basake Holy Stars on Saturday at the Kpando Sports Stadium.
The win extends Bashir Hayford’s team’s unbeaten run to seven matches in the league, comprising six wins and a draw.
Heart of Lions are joint-top of the league with 27 points, level with Bibiani GoldStars, but they lead on goal difference.
Forward Nana Kwame Oppong, in fine form, scored twice, opening the scoring in the 12th minute—his third consecutive game with a goal.
Emmanuel Sakyi doubled the lead in the 22nd minute.
Basake Holy Stars managed a consolation goal in the 61st minute, courtesy of Emmanuel Agyei.
Oppong sealed the victory in stoppage time with his second goal of the match.
