The first-ever Johnnie Walker Annual Ghana Golf Championship, brought to life by Johnnie Walker Blue Label, wrapped up successfully over the weekend at the Achimota Golf Club and what a weekend it was. From tee-offs to toasts, it was two days of great energy, premium hospitality, and outstanding golf.
The exclusive event brought together over 120 golfers, industry leaders, and invited guests. Among the high-profile attendees were the CEO of Caveman Watches, Mr. Anthony Mensah Dzamefe, the evergreen Mona Myers-Lamptey, Chairman of PCM Capital Advisors, Mawuli Ababio and Lady Captain of the Achimota Golf Club, Kous Loaunges Mang, among other distinguished personalities.

Day one kicked off early Friday morning with the arrival of golfers and guests. After a short welcome, the championship officially teed off. Guests then enjoyed a relaxing grooming session offering haircuts, manicures, pedicures, and massages.
Later in the afternoon, before the Johnnie Walker Blue Label tasting session, Felicite Nson, Managing Director of Guinness Ghana, addressed guests. She said: “This championship is a bold new chapter in how we connect with our consumers in a meaningful and memorable way. As we celebrate 65 years of Guinness Ghana, this event reflects the spirit that has taken us this far and will carry us even further.”

Following her speech, the tasting session began, a premium Johnnie Walker Blue Label experience many described as the highlight of the day. Guests later danced the night away at the Mirror Ball party with good music, great vibes, and even better company.
Saturday brought golfers back to the course for the final round. The Honey Groove Band kept the energy high with live performances, while guests enjoyed grills, cocktails, and more brand experiences. Another round of brand immersion in the afternoon gave everyone a second chance to engage with the story of Johnnie Walker.
The big moment came with the awards ceremony. Trophies were presented to top performers in both men’s and women’s categories, including:
● Category A
● Category B
● Seniors
● Longest Drive

“With Johnnie Walker, it is always about progress, bringing people together, celebrating bold characters, and creating meaningful connections. We are excited about the journey ahead and proud of the community we've built here this weekend.”
In a heartfelt address, Dr. Frank Adu Junior, President of the Achimota Golf Club, expressed his deep appreciation for the club being chosen to host this landmark event. He also pledged his commitment to maintaining the Championship at Achimota Golf Club in the years ahead, acknowledging that other clubs would undoubtedly lobby to host such a prestigious tournament in the future.
The championship ended on a high note, with music from a live DJ, good food, and an atmosphere of genuine connection.
