The Appointments Committee of Parliament is set to vet Abdul-Rashid Hassan Pelpuo, the Minister-designate for Labour, Jobs, and Employment, alongside seven other nominees on Thursday, 30th January 2025.

The process will continue on Friday, 31st January 2025, with an additional nine nominees appearing before the committee.

The vetting on Thursday will commence at 8:00 a.m. with Mr Pelpuo, followed by Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed, the Minister-designate for Environment, Science, and Technology, at 9:00 a.m.

Samuel Nartey George, nominated for Communications, Digital Technology, and Innovations, will face the committee at 10:00 a.m..

At the same time, Kofi Iddie Adams, the Minister-designate for Sports and Recreation, is scheduled for 11:00 a.m.

After a brief recess, proceedings will resume at 12:30 p.m. with Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, nominated for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Joseph Bukari Nikpe, the nominee for Transport, will take his turn at 1:30 p.m., followed by Issifu Seidu, the Minister of State for Climate Change and Sustainability, at 2:30 p.m.

The final nominee for the day, Mrs Charity Gardiner, designated for the Ahafo Region, will be vetted at 3:30 p.m.

On Friday, 31st January, the vetting will begin at 8:00 a.m. with Salisu Be-Awuribe Issifu, Esq, the nominee for the Savannah Region.

Wilbert Petty Brentum, designated for the Western North Region, will appear at 9:00 a.m., followed by Felix Kwakye Ofosu, MP, the Minister of State for Government Communications, at 10:00 a.m.

Joseph Nelson, the nominee for the Western Region, is scheduled for 11:00 a.m., while Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, MP, nominated for the Ministry of Health, will face the committee at noon.

Following a lunch break at 1:00 p.m., the vetting will resume at 1:30 p.m. with Joseph Addae Akwaboa, designated for the Bono Region.

Francis Owusu Antwi, the nominee for Bono East, will be vetted at 2:30 p.m., followed by Edumoah Ekow Panyin Okyere, designated for the Central Region, at 3:30 p.m.

The final session of the day will be at 4:30 p.m., where Puozuing Charles Lwanga, the nominee for the Upper West Region, will take his turn.

The vetting process is expected to assess the competence, vision, and suitability of each nominee for their respective ministerial roles before parliamentary approval.
