Thirteen people have been confirmed dead in separate road crashes in the Ashanti region, Friday.
Nine persons reportedly died on the spot when an articulated truck traveling from Kumasi ran over Mercedes Sprinter Bus travelling from Takoradi to Kumasi.
Reports say the Sprinter Bus with registration number AW 1420-13 burst its tyres and lost control, running into an oncoming truck with registration number WR 1652-09. Several others who sustained injuries are currently receiving treatment at the Okomfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in Kumasi.
Earlier, four persons died on the spot at Mfensi near Abuakwa on the Kumasi-Tepa road, when a Kia Pregio mini-bus with registration number AW 6168-13 crashed into a tricycle.
According to Luv FM's Erastus Asare Donkor, 10 persons who sustained varying degrees of injury, have been sent to hospital for treatment.
