Police in Ga West have begun investigations into the circumstances under which a 24 year old man was killed by land guards.
Sulley Amartey was shot while erecting pillars on a land in Ayikai Dobro near Amasaman in the Ga West Municipality in Accra on Friday.
Five others sustained gunshot wounds in the attack.
The Managing Director of Salley Properties, Ibrahim Salley, the estate developer, who was supervising work at the site when the land guards attacked, told Joy News that after an initial confrontation between his workers and the land guards had been settled the land guards later emerged from the bushes and opened fire on them.
Speaking to Joy News on the matter, the Ga West District Police Commander, Superintendent I.K. Asante confirmed the incident adding that one suspect had been arrested in connection with the shooting.
According to him, the suspect is still being interrogated as investigations continue. The survivors are receiving treatment.
