Minister of Mines and Natural Resources, Alhaji Inusah Fuseini has indicated that the Forestry Commission is better placed to undertake tree planting exercise in the country.
Speaking on Joy News, Friday, the Minister noted that the Forestry Commission is the institution that has the requisite expertise in this sector as they know when to clear the bush and specific times and action to take on tree planting exercises.
He further asserted that it will be in the interest of Savannah Accelerated Development Authority (SADA) and the country as a whole, if the Authority collaborates with the Forestry Commission in the exercise.
The Minister was therefore of the view that SADA collaborates with the Forestry Commission in any future tree planting exercise.
The SADA tree planting project has become the subject of controversy following reports that some five million trees planted have been burnt.
