A 13 year old girl has been left temporarily paralyzed after she was defiled by a middle-aged man at Pantang in the Ga East Municipality of Accra.
The suspect, who lives in the same vicinity with his wife and children is said to have fled following the incident.
Now, doctors say she needs immediate surgery to repair her wounded private parts.
The victim's elder sister Maame Esi told Joy News' Beatrice Adu the victim was sent to deliver a message to the suspect but on her arrival it began to rain and so the suspect advised her to remain in the house until the rain was over.
In the short period, the victim who Adu gave a pseudo name as Akua, took a nap and the suspect took advantage of that and defiled her.
The alleged perpetrator identified only as Paul, then threatened Akua with death if she ever disclosed the ghastly sexual episode she was subjected to.
For three months Akua suffered in silence, in pain and her body became susceptible to minor ailments.
It was then that her parents began asking questions and the victim broke her long silence.
The dark skinned beautiful girl, as Adu aptly described her, had veins in her private parts torn apart with doctors saying the assault could affect her womb and hinder any future possibilities of giving birth if she is not quickly operated upon.
The family of the victim are now preparing Akua for surgery but have no money.
Maame Esi and the victim's father passionately called on philanthropists to assist in having Akua operated upon and her future secured.
