Vice President K. B. Amissah-Arthur says Ghana’s stable political environment and good quality labour makes it a good destination for investment.
He has therefore called on the private sector, including foreign ones, to anchor their investment in the country. This, he observed, will also give such investors access to the larger West African market.
The Vice President made the call at the Flagstaff House on Thursday when he received a delegation from Marubeni Corporation of Japan.
Mr Amissah-Arthur said Ghana and Japan can collaborate in many sectors of the economy for the mutual benefit of the two countries.
In particular, he mentioned the energy and agriculture sectors potential areas for collaboration, noting that such ventures will not only add to the countries energy needs but also help create sustainable jobs for Ghanaians.
Among others, the delegation expressed its interest in playing major roles in the country’s power sector as well as in the establishment of a sugar plant in northern Ghana.
