National Communication Officer of the NDC, Sammy Gyamfi will Monday honour an invitation by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service over alleged cybercrime offences.
The invitation follows a complaint made to the police by the seat of government, Jubilee House.
Mr Gyamfi, who could not honour the invite last Friday, is expected to be present at the Police Headquarters with his lawyers, Godwin Kudzo Tameklo, former Attorney-General, Marietta Brew Appiah-Oppong and some party executives.
Sources close to the Communication Officer say the police were earlier given a warrant by the Kaneshi District Court to seize items belonging to Mr Gyamfi, including mobile phones, for investigation purposes.
A formal request was also sent to the social media platform, Facebook, to hand over the account details of Sammy Gyamfi to them.
Members of the NDC in a communique trending on social media have been urged to troop the CID headquarters to show their support and solidarity.
The communique further accused the Akufo-Addo led government of trying to intimidate and harass innocent members of the NDC.
