Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia says government has delivered at least 72% of promises made to the citizenry during the 2016 campaign in the build-up to the 2016 general elections.
”We will put the data out because we have done the work,” he told the teeming members of the party at the NPP’s National Delegates Conference at the Trade Fair Centre in Accra, Sunday.
Dr Bawumia reiterated what he believes is a commendable performance adding that the corresponding data would soon be released to back the claim.
Imani Africa, in a recent report, scored the New Patriotic Party (NPP) 48% for its campaign promises fulfilment, a rating which has been widely rejected by members of the party including President Akufo-Addo.
But the former Deputy Governor of the central bank disagrees with this.
“We have either delivered completely or we are delivering on 72% and we are going to put the data out so that everyone will go promise by promise and see whether we are delivering or we have delivered,” he said.
The Vice President also revealed that the economy has seen a major boost due to the competent management prowess of the Akufo-Addo-led administration.
“Ghana today is one of the fastest-growing economies in the world for two years in a row. Agricultural growth is increasing by 8.4%, industry growth has moved from negative to positive, inflation is on the decline, about half of what it was when we came into office, interest rates are on the decline,” the Vice President explained.
