Hill View Montessori School at new Ashongman in Accra, has donated items valued at about GH¢25,000.00 to the Odotom Akubrefa Seventh Day Adventist Basic School in the Ewutu Senya Breku District.
The donation formed part of its annual corporate social responsibility dubbed: “Touch a Heart”.
The items included 200 tables and chairs, School bags, dresses, shoes, slippers, soaps (liquid and bathing), sanitary towels, tooth pastes, tooth brushes, stationery for teaching and learning and toiletries to enhance teaching and learning in the village.
Mrs Vida Asamoah- Gyekye, the Director of the Hill View Montessori said, this year’s “Touch a Heart” marked the fifth time the school was undertaking this exercise.

She said the exercise, which started in 2016 had visited children in Dego in the Akuapem South District, Yaw Boame and Kwaboanta in the Ayensuano District and Yahoman in the Ga West District.
Mrs Asamoah-Gyekye expressed her profound gratitude to her parents, teachers and school children for supporting the worthy course of being a blessing to many school children in the village.
Mr Moses Aniagyei, the Principal of Hill view Montessori School, said the School was excited to support other school children in the less privilege communities and urged others to emulate the gesture.
Mr Francis Ayison, the Head teacher of Odotom Akubrefa SDA Basic School, commending the School for the gesture expressed the hope that the gesture would open more doors for the school.
He noted that the school lacked modern learning and teaching facilities and expressed the worry that some children sit on concrete blocks to write in the classrooms whilst some classes were held under trees.
Naayi Andoh Akrobeto, Amankrado of the town who spoke on behalf of Chief, said it was the first of its kind in their community and advised parents to show love, care and invest in their children’s education for a brighter future.
He further advised parents to monitor their children especially the girl-child against teenage pregnancy which was of increase in the area, and advised the recipients to take good care of the items and put them to proper use.
The children expressed their gratitude to the Hill View Montessori School for their kind gesture and appealed to the Government and other philanthropists to support the school with a library, computer laboratory and modern teaching and learning materials to enhance learning.
The children had some fun games like musical chairs, quiz and dance competitions amongst the children and teachers.
