A non-governmental organisation, Nyonyo Foundation, has presented personal protective equipment, medical logistics and hand hygiene items to the Ho Teaching Hospital to support the fight against the spread of the coronavirus.
The items worth about GH¢100,000 is to enhance healthcare delivery at the hospital, which serves the majority of residents in the region, in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.
An Iso Video Laryngoscope, 1 Iso Contec patient monitor, 1 Iso Contec ECG Holter and 25 packs of disposable three-ply surgical masks were part of the items presented.

Others are 25 packs of disposable 4-ply N95 mask, eight infrared thermometer guns, five packs of hand gloves, detergents and Veronica buckets.
Volta Regional Minister, Dr Archibald Letsa, led a delegation to present the items on behalf of the Volta Regional Representative to the Council of State, Francis Nyonyo Agboada, who is the bankroller of the Nyonyo Foundation.
Member of Parliament (MP) for Anlo, Kofi Humado, who represented the Foundation, indicated that Mr Agboada identifies the urgency of the coronavirus and the wreckage it has caused across the world, hence his decision to resource the teaching hospital to position it to meet the demands of patients during the pandemic.

"He [Francis Nyonyo Agboada] is aware of the seriousness of the disease and he believes that this situation calls for all hands on deck and that everybody especially, those who are better resourced, to come to the aid of the population, especially the poor,” he stated.
Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Ho Teaching Hospital, Dr Lord Mensah, expressed gratitude to the Nyonyo Foundation for providing the PPEs and underscored the essential role the items would play in their service delivery.
He further stated that "we are prepared as an institution to make sure that every patient brought here is taken good care of because, what we need to work with, have been provided.”
He, however, appealed to other organisations to follow suit to equip the hospital with the requisite logistics.
