The Dadekotpon Municipal Assembly in the Greater Accra Region has rolled out preventive measures to mitigate the spread of the coronavirus pandemic which is fast spreading in Accra.
On Thursday, April 23, 2020, the assembly held an emergency meeting to pass a nine-point resolution which makes it compulsory for people in the metropolis to strictly observe the Covid-19 protocols as a measure to halt the spread of the pandemic.
The assembly has made it compulsory for everyone in the municipality to wear a nose mask, including visitors to the Municipality.
Here are the resolutions:
1. Compulsory wearing of nose mask in the Municipality not excluding visitors to the Municipality.
2. Ensure continuous education/sensitization of the populace on wearing Nose Mask, social distancing assertion of hygiene etiquettes.
3. All Institutions and Organizations in the Municipality should ensure compulsory checking of temperature of staff periodic checks on travelling individuals. Health personnel trained staff will be assigned to undertake this exercise.
4. Ensure strict compliance of social distancing and observation of hygienic practices in the Municipality.
5. Ensure continuous flow of water to all residences in the Municipality by providing Poly tanks and Veronica buckets vantage places within the Municipality.
6. It is obligatory for all restaurants, Chop Bars Operators, Supermarkets, Shops and Offices to have Veronica buckets, liquid soaps, Hand-sanitizers for mandatory hand washing purposes.
7. Ensure provision of sign posts with the inscription ‘No Nose Masks, No Entry’ at the entrances of all offices, shops, restaurants, supermarkets and all public places in the Municipality.
8. Ensure continuous running shift in the Markets and Lorry Stations.
9. Households and business owners should ensure daily cleansing of their frontages and backyards while Borla Taxis readily be made available for the collection of the debris as an enhanced strategy for fighting COVID-19.
