Entertainment pundit, George Britton, has said Ghana will not have a vibrant entertainment industry if musicians like Sarkodie, Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy are taken out of the list.
He made this assertion while speaking on challenges facing Ghana’s music industry, following Gasmilla’s recent attack on Sarkodie.
According to George Britton, aside from music, Sarkodie, Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy create a lot of buzz for the music industry to talk about and thrive on, every single day.
He told KMJ on Joy Prime’s Showbiz Now, this buzz helps grow the industry while keeping it alive.
George Britton enumerated some of the issues that have created this problem in the industry as hatred, selfishness and envy.
According to him, the industry has been stagnant with no outstanding developments because of these problems many artistes seem to face.
He added that the government does not see the need to support musicians because, they are busy fighting among themselves on social media.
He further called for government support for initiatives that champion entertainment.
“Government doesn’t know entertainment sector provides employment, even in my team we have about 10 people and all these people wake up to go to work,” he noted.
