A neurosurgeon at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital has recounted his close shave with Covid-19 to Lexis Bill, host of Joy FM's Drivetime.
On just a normal working day, Dr Hadi Abdallah's sister accompanied a friend suffering from a neurological condition to the hospital.
The patient was placed in the care of Dr. Abdallah, however, after a few short days of her stay at the hospital, a nurse taking care of the patient tested positive for the virus.
The doctor's suspicion about the Covid-19 status of his patient was aroused, as earlier, she had exhibited some symptoms related to Covid-19, so he insisted that she got tested.
The test results proved his suspicions were right, and this led to him and his other colleagues all getting tested...he eventually tested negative.
Dr Abdallah narrated the trauma he experienced while waiting for the results of his test which took five days...as well as his fears of his children being stigmatised once he tests positive.
