Family of a 14-year-old girl who was allegedly defiled at Agona-Ahanta in the Ahanta-West Municipality of the Western Region is demanding justice.
This comes days after police allegedly released the perpetrators on the blind side of the family insisting the case should be settled out of court.
The class six pupil was, on May 19, 2020, allegedly lured by three men aged 18, 19 and 14, who allegedly defiled her continuously for three days.
According to the mother of the victim her daughter went out on an errand on Tuesday but didn’t return until Thursday when she came home bleeding profusely.
“One of the perpetrators is a friend, he lured me to his house and gave me a bottle Rush Energy Drink. When I took it I became extremely dizzy and woke up after three days bleeding profusely from my vagina. I didn’t see or feel anything at all,” the 14-year-old told JoyNews’ Henry Kwesi Badu.
The Ahanta West Police Command arrested the perpetrators on May 21, 2020, and have since been released with the police insisting the case could be settled out of the law court.
The family, however, disagrees with the stance of the police.
They want the suspects prosecuted.
Father of the victim, Richard Quaicoe however says he will not relent until the law takes its full course.
“My daughter was raped by three young men. After we reported the incident to the Police the boys were arrested as my daughter was admitted for five days at a health facility in the community. I was later told the young men have been released and we the police are insisting we should do an out of court settlement. This was on my blind side, we will want the law to take its full course,” the father said.
The 14-year-old victim who was discharged from the hospital is currently responding to treatment at home.
