Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Yaw Buaben Asamoa says the party is satisfied with ongoing voter’ registration exercise so far.
According to him, despite pockets of reported violence at some centers and malfunctioning of some equipment by the EC, the NPP is impressed with the smooth start.
The EC’s ongoing voters’ registration exercise is expected to cover a total 33,367 polling stations across the country.
Speaking to a section of the press in Parliament, Buaben Asamoa cautioned eligible applicants to be responsible and adhere to Covid-19 social distancing protocols to curtail spread of the virus.
Responding to the statement by the Ghana Medical Association (GMA) calling for the prosecution of EC officials and political party agents for any breaches of Covid-19 preventive protocol, he disagreed with the GMA, insisting that individuals must be responsible for their safety.
“It cannot be stressed enough that social distancing, wearing of masks and observing the hygiene protocols are dependent on our self-discipline,” the Adentan MP said.
