The Proprietor of Bright Senior High School at Kukurantumi in the Eastern Region has been arrested for allegedly instigating students to protest during their West African Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (WASSCE).
Bright Ampomah who doubles as headmaster was picked up by the police on Friday when he was about to hold a press briefing to address the incident that took place at his school on Thursday.
In a viral video, Mr Ampomah is seen instructing his students to leave the examination hall after a West African Examination Council (WAEC) official prevented him from entering the examination hall.
His order caused chaos which brought the examination to a halt.
After this, the angry students allegedly smashed the phones of the officials and injured one of them because they were unhappy with strict supervision during the exam.
A journalist with the Daily Graphic in the Region who had gone to the school to report was also assaulted by the students leaving him with severe injuries.
According to Joy News' Edwin Kofi Siaw, Mr Ampomah has been taken to the Bureau of National Investigation (BNI) Office in Koforidua pending investigation.
